How/When to Visit
To Our Residents and Family Members:
We know many of you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 (the new coronavirus) and how it may impact us here at Caring Acres Nursing and Rehab Center. Ensuring residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our first priority and something our highly trained staff are trained to do everyday. At this time, we DON’T have any cases in our nursing home. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) however have recommended a variety of steps that have been implemented as a precaution to help reduce the potential for the virus to enter our building.
We understand first hand how important it is to stay connected with your loved ones which is why we offer a host of options to stay in touch and even allow visits in person. We ask for your help that in person visits are called into the nursing home to be scheduled in advance so that we can take the additional time needed to go over any Covid related items including mask wearing, covid screening questions, travel, etc.
As you enter the first set of doors you will see a doorbell on your right. Please ring the doorbell and wait for a member of our team to greet you. DO NOT enter the final set of doors until you have been fully screened by a member of our team. Our staff member will meet you there to conduct a screening for each individual wanting to visit (including family members, contractors, service providers, etc), ensure proper masks are being worn or provide one to you, and discuss any additional items that may be needed or relevant to your visit.
At this time outdoor visits are still the preferred method for in person visits and as the weather changes we will accommodate in person visits in the dedicated visitor space. Additional Forms of Communication have also been established to further increase your ability to connect with your loved one and for those that don't want to risk an in-person visit. Those additional forms of communication include: A designated resident phone line has been setup to accept incoming calls. (712-762-4535). A Resident e-mail account has been setup (email@example.com) > Once a message is received a member of our team will work with your loved one to compose a reply. We have also setup an additional email for general questions and a member of our team will get back to you (firstname.lastname@example.org). Facetime has been setup by calling (email@example.com) and Google Duo has been setup by calling (402-739-9285). Also family visits through the closed resident room window can be setup by calling Kelli to setup a time and how this visit works.
We will continue to offer hand washing and alcohol-based hand sanitizer stations throughout the building and ask that you avoid shaking hands and giving hugs with any individuals as a way to further help keep the community healthy and stop the spread of germs.
Caring Acres Nursing and Rehab Center is following the recommendations of the CDC, DIA, CMS, IDPH, and AHCA on prevention steps. Our team will continue to actively monitor and stay in close contact with our local and state health organizations as we monitor this situation that is facing our globe.
Some may consider these precautions to be extreme or not needed since we DON’T have a confirmed case however the health of all our residents and staff are of highest importance so with your help, we will keep all your loved ones and our staff safe from COVID-19. In the off chance any of our residents or staff are diagnosed with COVID-19 you will be notified promptly.
